Macronutrients vs. Micronutrients

Macronutrients are the nutrients that we need in relatively large amounts every day.  They are also called “energy nutrients” because they provide us energy and calories.

-          Carbohydrates
-          Proteins
-          Fats

Micronutrients are those that are needed by our body in small amounts. They help our body to digest the macronutrients.
-          Vitamins
-          Minerals
