Water

General information:


-          It is essential for the health and function of the human body.
-          2/3 of our body weight is water.
-          It is caloric-free-way to quench your thirst.
-          Drink more water in the hot weather or when you are active.
-          A person needs to drink 2 litres of water every day (8 glasses).

What does water do for your body?

-          It helps in the digestion and absorption of food.
-          Regulates body temperature and circulation.
-          Carries nutrient and oxygen along and remove toxins and other forms of waste.
-          Help in metabolism and weight management.

Dehydration

-          It is when the body does not have a sufficient amount of water.
-          It can be dangerous for people of any age, especially for young and elderly.
-          Symptoms of dehydration: thirsty, dark yellow urine, dry skin, loss of appetite, chills, weakness, dry mouth, frequent joint pain, stomach pain, ulcers, back pain, low energy, mental confusion and disorientation.
