Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms

-         Fundamental Freedoms
o       Of conscience and religion
o       Of thought, belief, opinion, and expression
o       Of peaceful assembly
o       Of association
-         Mobility Rights
o       The right to live and work in any province or territory
-         Legal Rights
o       The right to not be detained or imprisoned without good cause
o       The right to be informed promptly of the reasons for arrest
o       The right to a lawyer without delay, and to not be imprisoned without the existence of a crime
o       The right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty
o       The right not to be subjected to cruel and unusual treatment or punishment.
-         Equality rights
o       The right to equal treatment by the law and protection from discrimination
-         Official languages of Canada
o       The right to access the Government of Canada in English or French
-         Minority language educational Rights
o       The right to educate in English or French where there are significant numbers of students.
